I came upon this place 7 years ago by chance. I was visiting Fastenal for parts. At the time I was using Schomp BMW for my repairs and maintenance. It's hard to find a local repair shop that's locally owned. I was greeted by Eric and Joe when I went in to schedule an oil change. I could tell by meeting them I would be coming here for all my BMW needs. You can tell by peoples demeanor and I liked what I was feeling, after my oil change they made some recommendations on some minor issues that don't need immediate attention, but should be fixed in the future. They gave me a quote and I left. My car drove well after that oil change. After a few days I called to schedule the repairs they suggested. They gave me a date to come in to drop it off. After speaking with them they assured me about everything and how Schomp makes money off repairs. I even called Schomp to see what their pricing was, almost double if not triple. German Imports has done 4 major repairs on my 2003 BMW 330xi and I am very impressed with the pricing, work, and quality they put into taking care of you. They are one of those hidden gems in Denver. The pricing is amazing, the customer service is amazing, and the mechanics our top notch! Yeah they don't have a coffee bar or loaners, but I would trade that all in for them, oh wait I did! The four jobs included major tune up, exhaust system replacement, Power steering overall, and currently my axles were replaced. Even tho these can be very expensive costs, German Imports saved me thousands if I went to others. A long the way I don't even ask for a pricing list, because they price everything fair if not the best price! I've compared my 4 major repairs to Schomp and they saved me 8K! I am so glad this place exists and I do highly recommend it to anyone who has a German Import to go to this place, I do warn you that you might be upset that you paid way too much elsewhere. They do it all and they are certified mechanics. If you looking for a honest repair shop check this place out! Hey you might bump into me there get a oil change! Thank you German Imports Repair Shop for all those years and many more!

Frann, thank you so much for this stellar review! It's a pleasure helping you with your car. Thanks for your recommendation, and we are here for you whenever you need us. -Alan, Owner

I own a 2000 BMW Z3 which I purchased new in 1999. I have now driven the car in excess of 267,000 miles and it remains in perfect working order. During the past 12 years I have exclusively used German Imports for all of the maintenance on my vehicle. The work has always been excellent, while the staff is friendly and helpful. The shop has recently changed ownership and the new owner and staff have continued these high levels of service, helpfulness, and excellence. I recently had a water pump replaced, which was also replaced 5 years ago. In comparing the previous and current invoices I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the most recent work came in at a cost approximately $100.00 lower than in 2013. I highly recommend the shop!

We're honored to have helped you for all these years, Richard! We know the uncertainty that can happened when ownership changes, so we're thrilled that we've been able to provide you with the same, quality service you're used to and deserve. We look forward to continue working with you! Thank you for making it such a pleasure. Best, Alan, Owner

Al at German Imports was great handling a difficult situation with my Porsche Cayenne. He had to submit the work I needed using my extended warranty to a warranty company that was not responsive at all. (The warranty company is horrible, but that's for another review). Al was on hold for a long time each time he had to call them and he was so patient during the whole process. We finally got the warranty work approved and German Imports did all they could to get me the vehicle back in a timely manner. They checked the car out entirely and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. Al was upfront and honest the entire time, clearly explaining to me the services I needed. I highly recommend German Imports to anyone.

It was our pleasure, Brad! I'm glad we were able to team up to tackle this head on, and that you were able to receive the help you needed. If there's anything else you need at any time, please reach out. All my best, Alan, Owner

Only been going here for a short while but wanted to give them kudos for a couple things. First, they actually contacted the local BMW dealer to confirm if my car was in or out of a recall window on the issue I was having. Also notified me about a mechanical issue that my engine is susceptible to (BMW has issued a TSB and extended warranty on as well) but hasn't yet fell victim to. I confirmed it through BMW forums and official BMW documentation. They seem to know there stuff and were honest about the issue that I had.

It was our pleasure, Blair! We're here if anything else comes up. Thanks for the support! -Alan, Owner

So glad I took my Audi to these guys. They are super accommodating (got same day service), easy to deal with and most importantly; they quickly diagnosed my check engine light, fixed the vacuum leak and had me back on the road in a few short hours - for what felt like a fraction of the price of what an Audi dealership would have charged.

Hey Jay! Thanks for the great review. Glad it turned out that the vacuum leak was easy to find and fix.

Screwd my x,s car up doing diagnostics. Useless

I don't know what you mean "a pd." It's not possible to screw up a car doing diagnostics. Our scanning systems don't make changes to a car's performance -- they only read fault codes that the car itself generates. And we have the very latest, state-of-the-art, scanning technology available. That said, please have her/him call me so I can understand and try to resolve the problem.

First of all I want to say if i could rate 5 negative stars i would, the customer service is terrible. I took my BMW in for a diagnostic which they said they would not charge me for. They called me and said they weren't sure what it was but came up with an amount of 1800.00 dollars for labor. Then when i came to pick my vehicle up they said they needed to charge me 145.00 for looking at it because they said it was so much work just to look at it even though they didn't have an exact diagnosis. Funny thing is I decided to try replacing my ignition coil #4 because I watched a YouTube video on how to check them just by a simple lift of a tab. Paid 50.00 dollars for a new ignition coil and replaced it in 10 minutes !!! I'm a girl! I had more knowledge than these con artists . Beware of businesses and shady mechanics that try to take advantage of people that they feel don't know any better! Do not trust these people !!!!

Hi Kelly, I'm sorry your feel this way. We normally do not charge for diagnostics, but as we both know, there were extenuating circumstances in your situation. Your car has a faulty vanos system, which is a complex, variable valve timing system on BMWs. Determining exactly what is wrong with it will require disassembly of the front of the engine and removal of the valve covers. That is a lot of work, so, including reassembly, that is where the $1,800 estimate came from, as I explained to you. I assure you that replacing an ignition coil did not solve this problem, and you still need to have it repaired. We did not try to con you. As we are with all our customers, we were straightforward with our assessment of your vehicle and the costs associated with its repair. I am sorry you left feeling this way though, as it is my goal that all of our customers are happy and satisfied with our work.

This place is a gem of a find for German cars. I took my 2011 BMW 335ix for oil cooler gasket repair and bushings replacement. They were fast and fair with price. After a week, I had coolant level problems, so I went back to the shop. Al was courteous and professional and took care of the problem free of charge. It's a honest place. Recommend to anyone who cares for their cars. RTL

The best repair shop hands down for my 2007 BMW 328i! My story is that my radiator hose was so old it cracked on me and broke off. As an emergency I stopped by German Imports to see it they can fix it today as soon as possible. Sure enough they did! Great work! I am a happy camper! And will always go back. Ask for Al the owner. He also let me use his vehicle to grab my laptop from work so I can work while I was waiting! Nobody does that except Al! Al and Jeff (mechanic) made a stressful situation into a great day! Thank you guys!
